Additional Information
This single LP is a mystery. It's white sleeve has no stickers. There are no paper inserts. And the labels are totally misleading. Wheel's Of Fame is by Sample Hugs and the songs on either side are Songs Of Torch 1-6 and Songs Of Torch 7-12. Simple Minds are not mentioned anywhere.

The only option is to play it.

"Go!" shouts Jim and the band break into an energetic rendition of Promised You A Miracle. The song is similiar to the eventual Live In The City Of Light version, but clocking in longer with a lengthy instrumental break, ending with the new "Just my imagination, running away with me" lyrics.

Then straight into The American, with Derek's opening bass riff. Jim sings the new vocal intro with some extra cities:

"If you walk across the water
To the land of milk of honey
To the land of liberty
To the land of wide open space
The young poeple going up
Got old people where they are
Where they are, are, where they are,...

Boston, Philadelphia, Chicago, New Orleans,
Washington D.C, Aqua, New Ohio, New York City,
I'm going up, up, up, up.

This is called The American!

Take me away. To another day."

Like the other Sparkle performances, this is a huge slab of a song. Jim adds loads of extra vocals ranging from "Take Me Away, When Will You Take Me Away?" to "Turn me around, turn me around"

"Thank you - this is Glittering Prize" and the band play a version very similar to the cut on Promised You A Miracle (Live). Then with no annoucement, the Sparkle version of Someone Somewhere In Summertime is performed, a cut in the recording follows, and Mick's clinic synths open Big Sleep, the final recording on this bootleg.

This is an interesting recording. The band are well recorded and mixed. But the audiences cheers and whistles are also mixed in, providing a constant background noise. This recording of Simple Minds is similar to Presence Of Mind but the constant crowd noise, plus some volume fluctuations (most notable at the end of The American), earns it a slightly lower quality rating.

This bootleg should have a white, plain cover with a red sticker with Simple Minds Live stamped in black on it. Most have lost their covers and are known by the bizarre titles on the labels.
